Emergency Physician | Educator | Researcher | Advocate for Sustainable Health
Dr Adrian Cois is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine. He combines bedside medicine with teaching, research, and design-driven thinking to improve how clinicians deliver care.
Originally from Australia, Dr Cois’ career began in sports performance, where he founded and operated a multidisciplinary training facility for elite athletes. His years in high-performance sport shaped his belief that prevention, movement, and lifestyle design are the foundation of long-term health.
Driven by a desire to broaden his clinical impact, Dr Cois sold his business (Acceleration Gold Coast) to pursue medicine at the University of Notre Dame (Fremantle), graduating with distinction. He went on to complete advanced training in Obstetrics & Gynecology, earning the Advanced Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RANZCOG), before transitioning to Emergency Medicine, where he practices full-time in the United States.
His work has spanned women’s health, sports performance, and acute care, giving a rare breadth of perspective - from optimizing Olympic athletes to stabilizing critically ill patients. Dr. Cois’ research and talks explore how climate change, design, and clinical culture intersect to shape both physician well-being and patient outcomes.
He has spoken at TEDx Boston, national emergency medicine conferences, and numerous hospital grand rounds on topics including climate resilience in medicine, performance under pressure, and longevity habits drawn from frontline care.
